Bulletin Letter from March 11
Thank you for your prayers and well-wishes with regards to my sinus surgery on Thursday. It went well and the Dominican Community is helping me to rest comfortably. I don’t do inactivity very well. but so far I have needed the rest. I have my first follow up appointment on Monday expect that I should be up and about some later this week. Again, I thank you for your prayers.
This week is Spring Break for the University Community so much of our regular programming will not take place. There are two groups participating in Alternative Spring Break experiences from the Newman Center under Sr. Angelica’s direction. One group will be working on various projects at Casa Maria. The other will work down on the border with Borderlinks. Please pray that this will be a great time of grace for our students and those they serve.
As we move deeper into Lent it is important for all of us to keep our Lenten commitments in the front of our minds. If Lent is to be the time of grace intended, we have to do periodic check-ins to hold ourselves accountable. What growth has come out of your Lenten commitment? How are you drawing close to the Lord? Have you made a good examination of conscience during this Lent? Have you made it to confession yet?
Don’t forget the communal Celebration of Reconciliation scheduled for March 29th.
