Tuesday, April 8 – THEOLOGY ON TAP- Sister Leonette Kochan, Assistant Superintendent for the Diocese of Tucson Catholic Schools, will talk about the role of Catholic Educations. Arrive at 6:30 PM for food and drink.  Talk begins at 7:00 PM.

 

Thursday, April 10 – Reconciliation Service We will have the Lenten Reconciliation Service at 7:00 PM.  Please join us at 6:00 PM for our community dinner.

 

Sunday, April 13 PRIMAVERA BREAKFAST TRIP – This is the final Primavera Men’s Shelter breakfast trip for the semester. If you are interested in helping out, contact Andy at hgonzalez@email.arizona.edu.  The group meets at 4:00 AM and returns to Newman by 7:00 AM.

 

 

Dedication Bricks – In honor of the 50th Anniversary of the dedication of the Newman Center Church, we are creating a new outdoor Marian Devotional Space within the existing rose garden.  Students, alumni, parishioners, parents, and benefactors are invited to purchase engraved bricks which will pave the renovated space.  Each brick is $100.00 and can be ordered at the front office.

RCIA INQUIRY

Tuesdays at 7 PM

We invite anyone who is interested in becoming Catholic and anyone who is not Catholic but interested in learning more about the Catholic faith to join us every Tuesday Night at 7:00 PM. SERVE AT CASA MARIA CATHOLIC WORKER HOUSE

Mondays and Thursdays at 8:15 AM

 

Casa Maria is a Catholic Worker House that serves the poor and homeless in South Tucson. Only a few miles away, this community of workers provides members of the Newman Center with the opportunity to serve and grow in understanding of the mission of the Catholic Workers. If interested, meet us at the Newman Center at 8:15 AM on Mondays and Thursdays. If you have any questions, contact Casey at charlesrhoyack@email.arizona.edu

WEDNESDAY MORNING SCRIPTURE SERIES

Father Bart Hutcherson, OP

Wednesday at 8:00 AM

Fr. Bart will begin by examining the Prophetic Tradition of Ancient Israel. Participants will examine texts from the Prophet Isaiah associated with the Lenten Cycle of Readings in the Church’s Liturgy.  Each session will last one hour.

 

WEDNESDAY NIGHT STUDENT MASS

Wednesdays at 7:30 PM

Every Wednesday night we invite all students to our Wednesday Student Mass! At 7:30, we begin with a time of praise and worship to prepare our hearts as we transition into Mass. The Mass is unique since it features a discussion homily. After Mass, we have different types of snacks and invite everyone to hang out.

DISCERNMENT DAY FOR WOMEN – The Diocese of Tucson Women Religious Vocations Team is offering a retreat for those interested in discerning God’s call. RELIGIOUS LIFE LIVE-IN & IMMERSION DISCERNMENT EXPERIENCE WITH THE DOMINICAN SISTERS OF MSJ: July 25-31, 2014 For young women, interested in participating in discerning their call to religious life and who desire to give themselves to mission outreach.  Participants will stay in a convent and work 3 days at St. Anthony’s Foundation in the Tenderloin area of San Francisco.
