NEWMAN CENTER CLOSED, TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 11
The Newman Center will be closed on Tuesday, November 11 in observance of Veterans’ Day. The Newman Center will re-open on Wednesday, November 12.

KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS OPEN HOUSE
Have you ever considered joining the best Catholic Organization for Catholic men? The Knights of Columbus is now recruiting! If you are a Catholic man, at least 18 years old, and want to make a difference sign up now! We are active in the Community and help those in need. We would love to have you be part of our Order. On Wednesday, November 12, there will be an Open House in Green Hall for anyone interested in joining, from 7:30-9PM. Hope to see you there!

PROVINCIAL CAMPUS MINISTRY MEETING
Fr. James and Fr. Jacek will both be out of town this week, Monday through Friday, attending the bi-annual Campus Ministry Meeting of the Western Dominican Province. Please keep them both in your prayers.

SPECIAL VATICAN OBSERVATORY PRESENTATION
Join Brother Guy Consolmagno, SJ, 2014 recipient of the Carl Sagan Medal and a member of the Vatican Observatory, as he explores what lessons can be learned from scientists throughout history whose ideas about our own world and others were wrong-sometimes hilariously, sometimes heartbreakingly. His lecture is title, “Discarded Worlds: Astronomical Ideas That Were Almost Correct”. It will be held on Thursday, November 13, 2014 at 7 PM at Centennial Hall; 1020 E. University Blvd.

NOVEMBER 15 5:15 PM MASS
The U of A football game on November 15 will begin at 1:30 pm and will end around 4:30 pm. Please be advised that traffic on streets surrounding the U of A will be very heavy. Please allow extra time to arrive at the 5:15 Mass.

NEWMAN WINTER FORMAL
Please mark your calendars for December 13 as we will be hosting a Newman Winter Formal. We will have more information about pricing for tickets and the location soon, however please note that it will be held from 8pm to midnight. Everyone, including the student and permanent community is welcome to join us as we celebrate the end of the year! We look forward to seeing you there!

SPRING 2015 PARKING PERMITS
Applications are now being accepted throughout Friday, December 12. Permits are $100. A permit does not guarantee the availability of a space. You must be a registered Newman parishioner to receive a parking permit.

CATHOLIC INQUIRY
Interested in learning more about the Catholic Church? Why we do what we do? What is involved in becoming a part of the Church? Join us for Inquiry on Tuesday evenings at 7 pm in the Library. For questions, please contact Sr. Elizabeth at srelizabeth@uacatholic.org.

PHILOSOPHY OR LIFE
On Friday, November 14 at 3 pm in the Library, we will be reading the book Religion. If there is no God… by Leszek Kolakowski. Discussion led by Fr. Jacek.

PRAYING THE HOLY ROSARY
And on Friday, November 14 join us as we pray the Holy Rosary at 4:30 pm in the Blessed Sacrament Chapel.

RCIA VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
We are looking for volunteers to sign up to provide lunch on Sundays for the RCIA group, which includes candidates, sponsors, team members and members of the Dominican community. Volunteers who provide receipts, will be reimbursed for expenses. Sign up sheets and instructions are available in the back of the Church. Questions?
