Ministries and Programs

The Newman Center offers a variety of ministries and programs.  Most of the Undergraduate student programs are run by the Campus Ministry Leadership Team (CMLT).  The CMLT is divided into teams that include the following:

Campus Renew Undergraduate Leaders Team
Campus Renew is our small-faith sharing group program, where you meet with a faith sharing group once a week to discuss the upcoming Sunday’s scripture, and in the mean time grow in your faith with others.

Community Building Team
Our Community Building Team plans and implements many of our social programs, such as Gaudeamus, Tailgate Parties, and the Spring Formal.  In addition, they provide many opportunities to form the community through different types of gatherings.

Emmaus Worship Team
The Emmaus Worship Team provides an environment of worship through music at our Wednesday evening student-centered worship night – Emmaus.

Freshman Outreach Team
Our Freshman Outreach Team works with the On-Campus Outreach Team and the Community Building to focus on helping freshman make the transition from high school to college.

On-Campus Outreach Team
The On-Campus Outreach Team brings an awareness of the Newman Center to the campus through tabling and events on the Mall, as well as acting as a liason to ASUA, the University’s student government.

Preaching Team
The Preaching Team is a small team of students who provide preaching at many different events such as Emmaus and Holy Hour.  In addition, they are responsible for planning the Fall Undergraduate Retreat.

Social Justice Team
The Social Justice Team organizes all of the social justice programming and service opportunities such as providing meals to the homeless and educating for justice.
