Freshman Retreat

The Freshman Retreat, organized by the Freshman Outreach Team, takes place in September every year.  It is a great way to meet other Freshmen and grow in your spirituality.  This past year’s Freshman Retreat theme was “UNDER CONSTRUCTION: Laying the Foundations of a Good Collegiate Spirituality.” The retreat explored the 4 Pillars of Dominican Life (Community, Study, Prayer, and Service) as a spirituality for college students.  If you’ll be a Freshman in the future, it’s the best way to get to involved with the Newman Center Community and begin your time as a college student.

Undergraduate Retreat

This year’s Undergraduate Retreat was from October 21 to 23 and was titled “Alive Again!”  It was a time of spiritual renewal and rest in light of the life and writing of St. Augustine.

“Come away by yourselves to a deserted place and rest a while.” – Mark 6:31

Spring Retreat

This year’s Spring Retreat is titled “Male and Female He Created Them,” and it will focus on how we view our sexuality as Catholics, and how we are called to a greater holiness as men and women of God. It is open to anyone from 18 to 29 years old, and it will take place on March 2-4 at Southern Pines Camp. You can sign up at the Newman Center front desk, and the cost of the retreat is $75.
