Confirmation

Confirmation is the Sacramental Completion of the process of Christian Initiation that begins with Baptism and continues through participation in the Eucharist.  There are many people who make it to the University never having completed their Christian Initiation.  The Newman Community provides many opportunities for those who wish to complete their Christian Initiation to do so.  If you are a university or college student who needs to complete Confirmation preparation and receive the Sacrament, we invite you to take a look at the Newman Center Confirmation Preparation Process.

Eight Weeks of Preparation

The Bishop of Tucson has given the Newman Center permission to prepare college age students for the Sacrament of Confirmation in a concentrated course.  The course is completed in just 8 weeks (attending class once each week and completing some assignments outside of class).  Because it is a short amount of time, we must assess a student’s motivation to complete Christian Initiation and insist that every student be present for every class during the eight week period.
