A Century Rooted in Faith

Our story began in 1925, when Catholic students at the University of Arizona first gathered under the guidance of Fr. James Stoner, meeting in borrowed classrooms long before a chapel existed on campus. From those humble beginnings grew the vibrant Newman community we know today, formed by generations of Wildcats, chaplains, alumni, and parishioners who helped shape a spiritual home at the heart of the university.

Centennial Gala | October 17, 2026
The Newman Center’s “May We Be One” 100th Centennial Gala was celebrated on October 17, 2026. This milestone celebration honored a century of guiding alumni, students and parishioners in their spiritual and personal formation. Proceeds from the Gala benefit the Newman Center Student Campus Ministry. You can invest in the next century of faith, leadership and belonging by making a donation today.

Homecoming Tailgate | October 24, 2026
Wildcat fans, it’s time to tailgate! Join us for our Centennial Homecoming celebration on October 24 on the UA Mall for food, music, and plenty of Wildcat spirit. The tailgate will start four hours before kickoff. Go Cats!
