Discover Our Centennial Year of Events

You’re warmly invited to explore the 100th Anniversary of the St. Thomas More Catholic Newman Center, a yearlong celebration honoring a century of faith, community and campus ministry at the University of Arizona.

A Century Rooted in Faith

Our story began in 1925, when Catholic students at the University of Arizona first gathered under the guidance of Fr. James Stoner, meeting in borrowed classrooms long before a chapel existed on campus. From those humble beginnings grew the vibrant Newman community we know today, formed by generations of Wildcats, chaplains, alumni, and parishioners who helped shape a spiritual home at the heart of the university.

Join the Celebration

Throughout this centennial year, we invite you to browse our full calendar of events: special liturgies, historical features, community gatherings, and opportunities to reconnect with the ministry that has supported students for 100 years.

Parishioners, alumni, students, and friends: this celebration is yours. Come see how our past inspires the next century of Catholic life at the University of Arizona. Celebrate with us by becoming a Centennial Volunteer, attending a Centennial event and sharing your Newman Center story.
